January :
 January 1st 2005 : Happy new year, and thank you for visiting the Motion And Heart news section. Well another new year is now upon us where did 2004 go to? So, 2005, what do we have to look forward to, well, we should see the remastered version of Dazzle Ships, the long awaited OMD DVD, and the OMD unreleased album. Lets hope that these all get released in 2005.
 
For fans of Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, there is also The OMD Event 2005 to look forward to, this is going to be a great few days for all of the fans that are attending, be sure to visit the main web site, to get more information.
 
For The Motion And Heart site, well as ever there will always be new things for you to see and do. December 2005, has seem a complete upgrade to the main site, and also a small tidy up with a number of things. As for new things, well, if you look at THIS LINK  you will find a way to navigate to the Motion And Heart videos section, and you will find some new things.
 
I have now got 2 entire concerts on-line for you. Take a look at the Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, live in South Africa section, here you have the entire concert all on-line>
 
You will also find the OMD Drury Lane concert now on-line. I know that most people will already have this, but for those that have not seen it before, I hope that you will enjoy.

 February 14th : Well, I am late in updating this page this month, sorry about that! I am very, very busy with many things in my life at the moment, and getting free time is difficult, but as ever, new things and ideas are always being worked on, in one form or another.

In the Motion And Heart Media section, you will find that there are some new files for you to listen to, thank go to those that have submitted these.

The OMD Event 2005 - Limited number of tickets for The OMD Event 2005 are still available.  March 2nd : Some new things for you. First tickets for The OMD Event 2005, have now SOLD OUT. Those that have ordered tickets and will be attending, have now had tickets sent out. It may be possible that a few tickets may become available, if you want to attend The OMD Event 2005, and need to get a ticket, you will have to get in touch with my self to see if I can help.

Check out a new little section called Bunker soldier, although this is not, as such a OMD link, I was so impressed by Bunker Soldier, I did a new little section.

NEW Videos, oh yes you have even more new videos to look at, check out the OMD Videos section, where you will find "From Factory To Liberty" and also be sure to look at the "Hit Box" section, so many clips for you to view!

April :
 April 1st: At last a news page up-date that is on time! Ok, first some boring stuff for you to read. I have become involved in politics as some of you may know, since the illegal war was started my feelings have been running very high, and being a person that does things, and does not just talk about them, I feel that I have to do something. So, here in the UK, we have a general election that should be taking place in May, I am involved with this, and it is all going to take a considerable amount of my time. So, this will mean that some site update here may lack, but after the Election, I will get more stuff on-line for you. But, it looks like I will also be standing for local election in May 2006, so the next year is going to be a very interesting one, in my life, and this is all going to take up much of the little free time that I have. But please do hang with me, as I will always keep this site fresh with new things.

 Right on to OMD News for you... Well, as I write this The OMD Event 2005 is only a couple of weeks away, so strange to how quick this has all come around, and if you are attending, then, you are going to go home with a head full of "Brilliant Dreams"

Plans for the forthcoming Unreleased Material album have taken a slight change of direction. Andy McCluskey is now considering adding new material to the planned album and releasing it via another label rather than Virgin.

Regular visitors might also recall that Andy had plans to work on his own solo project in 2005. Now for the first time he's spoken more clearly about the idea:

"I actually would quite like to do something that was just for me again. Because I think enough time has passed that I would enjoy doing it again."
"I had to stop and get OMD out of my system and that has happened. But also, quite simply, I still do like doing stuff and if the other things I'm doing don't make me any money then I can do my own stuff, be it OMD or something, and probably have a career. "

 News on The Red Frame White Light phone box.. Corky, a OMD fan has been working hard to get the phone box restored, and he has done a terrific job in this idea! and the phone box is due to get a face lift, good on corky! you can read more HERE or read below....

A musical landmark

THE red phone box in Birkenhead Road, Meols, is - to most people - just somewhere to make a call if they have left their mobile at home.

But to fans of 1980s band OMD, it isa musical landmark.

And they want BT to spruce it up before it becomes a stop-off point ona tour organised through the group's official fan website next month.

On April 10, a group of 60 fans from as far afield as the US will be descending on the phone box outside the Railway Inn which the group wrote a song about called Red Frame/White Light.

Explained Stephen Cork, of www.omd.uk.com: "It's in a bit of a state at the moment. It looks very battered.

"When the group first started, they used to meet in the pub and used the phone box to make calls to organise their gigs and for things like getting vans to carry their stuff.

"We contacted BT in the middle of last year and they promised us the work would be done within six months.

"Then I contacted them just before Christmas and they said they would try and find a date in March, but we still haven't heard anything."

The tour is set to start in Altrincham and will take in Stanlow, where the band members' fathers worked, along with Hilbre High School and Calday Grange Grammar, where the members went to school, as well as Eric's Club in Mathew Street.

The song gained some notoriety. It mentions the box's actual phone number, but not the (as was) 051 code.

Fans from all over the country would call the number, hoping to contacta member of the group, but instead would reach a confused home owner in their own area code.

BT has now confirmed it hopes to get the box re-painted by the end of the month.

A spokesman said: "We will be emailing the fan club to let them know we will most likely be doing the work on March 31."

Cllr Gerry Ellis has been working with the fan club to get the work done.

He said: "I think it's terrific we have this little bit of history in Meols and it's wonderful the fan club will be making this pilgrimage here.

"I've been very pleased to try and help them get this done. I was a fan of OMD when I was younger and this has renewed an old interest."

 May 10th:Well I did warn last month that I would be busy for a while, I am pleased to say that the Political side of my life has gone very well, and here in the UK, the party that I support, has done great. My own local area, is a big thumbs up!

 Right, enough of my own private life, so what is going on in the OMD world? Well, a lot! First The OMD Event 2005, which was held last month, well, what can I say, it was a huge success and any one that missed it, well you missed a brilliant few days we had celebs at the event, a even took the fans to meet Paul and Andy at the Motor Museum in Liverpool. So much took place, and I will not take to much time here going on to what took place, but of you visit the OMD Event web site, you can read more, and also see some photographs. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark are to reform! Yes it is true, Andy and Paul spoke about this at The OMD Event, and they are now back working together. For fans in Germany, great news for you, OMD will be recording Maid Of Orleans for the TV channel RTL on the 31st May 2005, this will then be broadcast some time in June. Here is what Andy says about this "The programme is called "The Ultimate Chart Show" on RTL recorded in Cologne. It's a run down of the 50 top selling acts from the 80's in Germany calculating the position by adding up all the weeks in the single chart in that decade for each act. Like C4's top 100 lists. I believe Nena, PSB's, Sandra are doing it also." Mally will be back playing drums, and Stew will be stepping in for Martin, who can not make it.
 Some very exiting times are ahead for OMD fans, but as always we must be patient

June :
 June 14th: Well another late update this month due to different things, but better late than never. So, what's new? Well, I have been busy with things in my own life, but still got some new goodies for you :)  News on the post OMD Event 2005, well we raised a massive sum of £1,290.00 for our two charities, being Child Flight and Asthma UK Great news for these charities, and the money has now been handed over.

OMD, have indeed done a reform, well sort of, they have done a slot for a German TV show that will be shown later this month. Andy, Mally, Paul and  Stuart Kershaw did Maid Of Orleans and this will be shown later this summer.. all being well I will get the clip on this site.

There is yet another new shout box on the main Motion And Heart web site, so please do say hello. Also a brand new look to the lead in page at www.motionandheart.co.uk also another brand new page for the OMD fan site http://www.omdfan.co.uk

August 1st 2005- Well July was a very busy month for myself, plus not much OMD news so, I did not write anything. But, I have been doing things for you.

 The main Motion And Heart web site, has had a number of upgrades in recent times, you should not notice any major changes, but we hope that you like the new look....

  September 5th 2005-Well, sorry for a lack of updates. I have had some personal issues that I have had to deal with, along with other things, but I have not forgotten the site! OK some updates
 The Ultimate Chart show which showed a live performance from OMD has been shown on German TV this was a highlight to see, and great to see OMD back, so to speak, I will have video from this added to this site very soon, but for now be sure to have a look at THIS LINK also check out Hagens German OMD site
 Some of you may know that a project that Andy has been working on "Genie Queen" well you can now have a listen to what has being going on and download some tracks, make sure that you check out "What A Girl Goes Through" which you can download from Pop Justice

OK some stuff from Motion And Heart well I have been updating the script that drives the site, so we are running the latest version. If you check out things and look you will find a link to a new chat page I am working on!
